Welcome to Pat’s House!

At an open house on Saturday, September 24, our new home at L’Arche Boston North was dedicated and given its official name: Pat’s House, in honor of our founding assistant Sr. Pat Murphy. Here are a few photos from the perfect fall day at 9 Valley Street in Merrimac, Massachusetts.

Sr. Pat spoke at the dedication, accompanied by longtime assistant and pastoral minister Tom Murphy (no relation) and four of the five core members living in Pat’s House.

Fr. Benjamin LeTran (right) from Sacred Hearts Parish in Haverhill and Groveland offered prayers of thanksgiving and consecration.

Over 100 visitors toured Pat’s House, including the kitchen and core member quarters behind.

A bright, open living-dining area is off the kitchen, while quarters for live-in assistants are up a flight of stairs.

The new head of Pat’s House is Anna Weaver (left). Her predecessor, Diana Giard (right), becomes pastoral minister of the community, taking the place of Tom Murphy. Now enrolled in a Ph.D. program at Boston College, Tom will continue to be a welcome presence among us.
