Founded in 2017, Home Made Hummus was produced in the kitchen of one of our homes. Now, we have grown into L’Arche Boston North Culinary Collaborative. The LBN Culinary Collaborative is an inclusive culinary training program for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities. We still make hummus, but we ventured into making so much more! We partner with two day programs in the Greater Haverhill area, and three days a week people of all abilities come together to cook up incredible meals from cuisine all around the world, sweet treats, and of course—hummus!

History of support
In 2018 we were gifted with a 5 year $100,000 grant to begin the growth of our meaningful day venture.
Today in 2024, we are deeply grateful and excited to have been awarded a 10 year $500,000 grant to keep us growing and create another space of belonging for people of all abilities by opening a L’Arche Café!

Become a Culinary Program Participant
L’Arche Boston North provides vocational services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We call our participants “Core Members” in recognition of their role at the heart of our community. By sharing the gifts of people with disabilities, L’Arche inspires the world around us to imagine community differently.

The L’Arche Boston North Culinary Collaborative is not an independently licensed day service provider. Instead, the Collaborative partners with existing day service providers, offering a community-based activity available to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities attending those services.
