Since Regional Gathering, I’ve been exposed to even more of a sense of community. I’ve moved into a different one of our houses (Assisi) and had a new fun experience. It’s interesting to have a new perspective from a new house with new core members and new assistants. My time at Assisi has been life-changing, full of love and light. The core members presently living in Assisi are Devin and Christine. The core members and assistants all watch movies together, play the piano, and participate in board games. It is truly an environment made to make memories and foster relationships.
Working Update
As an assistant, I’ve grown closer to the core members and found their little quirks. I have found different ways to bond with them, use their interests to create activities and bond them with other assistants and core members. On the other hand, my time in the office has been very impactful, with exciting projects and lessons. I’ve fostered a new determined work ethic and grown close with the other office staff. New projects and events have taken place, so I have made new flyers and decorations, and other future ideas have come to life. Working at L’Arche is a unique and tailored experience that continues to my summer and grow my love for L’Arche and its entire community.
