Come and See the Joy of Community

We welcome our neighbors to our Community Nights, hosting many new visitors throughout the year.

This time of gathering includes outreach and education. It’s an opportunity to build friendships between people with and without disabilities in our neighborhoods. We pray together, celebrate life, and enjoy one another’s presence.

We come together as old friends and love making new friends. Welcoming and introducing people to our community helps to deepen who we are as L’Arche and to make our lives richer. We invite you to come and experience the beauty of mutual friendships, celebration, and belonging that is foundational to our identity.

The Impact of L’Arche Boston North in our Neighborhoods is Two-Fold

1. There is a strong and positive impact on our core members (the residents with disabilities in our homes) who are empowered by our mission to be a full and active part of their neighborhood and to share there gifts with their neighbors.

2. There is a strong and positive impact on the people in the neighborhood who get the opportunity to know and befriend people with intellectual disabilities and live alongside them as neighbors looking out for one another. Research shows that exposure to people with disabilities is vital in combating pervasive prejudice and negative social representations.

Community Life

We love getting together and welcoming everyone to join and experience how meaningful our friendships in community life are. We want to make as many new friends as possible and we can’t wait to meet you. Twice a month every month we host community nights that are open for anyone to come. Every first Wednesday of the month we have Solidarity Dinner + Community Prayer. Every last Wednesday of the month we have Community Birthday Celebration. Location varies month to month! Check our blog/Instagram for the most up to date information. Every other month, we gather at Game Time Lanes in Amesbury, MA for a pizza and bowling night! Everyone is welcome to join us for any and all of these events.
